Being Green is Sustainably Simple

At SKPrints, we have converted many of our processes to green alternatives. We use environmentally friendly options like soy-based inks, ECO-solvents and alcohol-free dampening solutions so that you can feel confident that your business is being responsible to the environment when choosing us for your printing needs. We think green is good. So good, in fact, that we have an entire initiative devoted to it.

We are FSC™ certified (FSC-C104596) and we sell FSC™-certified products. FSC™ helps take care of forests and the people and wildlife that call them home.

We love recycling at SKPrints! Not only do we have recycling stations throughout our facility, we also recycle most of our production waste. This includes waste paper, plastics, corrugate materials, wood from our die cut plates and metal from our printing plates. In fact we recycle up to 95% of our waste. What does not get recycled we make sure it is disposed of responsibly.

We designed and built a brand new production facility in 2011, which we opened in 2013. This facility was built from the ground up to be as green as possible. For example we collect rainwater and use it to flush the toilets and water the plants. This alone saves us 280,000 litres of water a year or equivalent to 46,600 toilet flushes.

At the beginning of 2017 we started an initiative at the factory to replace 675 T5 lights which consumes on average 20.32 KWh of energy with LED lights which consumes on average 11.3 KWh of energy. In doing so we managed to save 9.02 KWh of energy which is equivalent to planting 186 trees annually.
